I absolutely love spring, because it's a reminder that warmth is on the way, and winter is finally coming to its icy end. However, dressing in spring (and autumn for that matter) can be slightly tricky due to the unpredictable weather. Take Christchurch this week for example, around 12 degrees, rainy, cold and pretty miserable. But last week, that's a whole other story, we had a 22 degree day where everyone was walking to uni in t-shirts because the sun was bloody shining up a storm.

Monday's look, with a long sleeved
merino knit worn underneath the shirt for good measure! |
Jacket: Roxy, Shirt: Topshop, Jeans: Rusty, Rings: Karen Walker, Shoes: Toms
So to combat mother nature's sticky moods and weather patterns, a crucial aspect is layering. I've always had a tendency to have a "she'll be right" kind of attitude (classic New Zealander I know) and end up being way too cold because I didn't bring that extra cardigan or whatever. Pretty counter-intuitive really as I definitely feel the cold and hate being exposed to anything below a mild temperature.

| Friday's Look: More of a winter style with a light-weight wool coat and boots. However, I always like to wear a little bit of colour, so I added a pale pink cotton top underneath. |
These two looks are from earlier this week (namely Monday and Friday, hence the title) and were great in terms of not looking like I was preparing for an antarctic expedition and not freezing during my daily commute to uni.
