New Denim: Hailwood

So after posting a while back about my struggle to find the perfect pair of blue jeans, I finally found them, sort of.

Fit: perfect.
Colour: perfect.
Amount of stretch: perfect.
Length: not so perfect.

Yes, I'm very used to this conundrum. Having short legs has always been a downfall when it comes to jeans shopping and so while I was a little put-out, my new denim tick all the other boxes. Plus, fashion always looks better with a little DIY.

So what are these almost perfect pair of blue beauties? The Vadar skinny jeans by Hailwood. This is my first purchase from the NZ brand, which firstly is cool because I like to support local designers and also because I was backstage last Friday at the Fashion Week Sovereign Lunch. Adrian Hailwood was there for his showcase and he was very pleasant, so I was happy to buy some luxe denim from his store.

However, there was still the length issue to contend with, so yesterday I sat down, after not having taken-up a pair of pants in forever. I'm sure I did it in the most complicated, time-consuming way, but as a little bit of a perfectionist, I was triple-checking all the measurements to make sure I wasn't cutting off too much or too little!

I finally finished and although it's not the best job in the world, I'm pretty please with my little bit of handiwork. Who really looks at the hem on your jeans anyway?
